A new way to shoot for PC gamers!

You remember the NES Zapper, or the SNES super scope? I loved those things, they really put me in the game, and that was when games were only in 2D. Then Time Crisis, Cabela’s Games, and Terminator came to the arcade making the FPS almost a reality. Sure Kinect, Wii, and Sony Move has brought some amazing depth to FPS in your home allowing you to move and duck like some of the giant arcade games do, but it still seems to be lacking something.

The company i-Zone-3 is looking to bring the next big revolution in FPS technology to the PC. Their lazer blasters are 5D (I think we are supposed to take this and face value and think its amazing…). They are designed to look like futuristic military guns, and can work on any screen;

“Compatible with a range of screen types: computer monitor, CRT screen, projectors, plasma screen, and large on-wall projections; Uses patent pending laser gun aiming technology which no other peripheral offers for a pc game. Specifically allowing you to point the gun directly at a target on a huge projection screen and shoot the target directly. Normally you have to move a mouse so the target is at the center of the screen and then fire. This technology creates an environment for dynamic situational awareness and high level marksmanship.”

They are currently looking for funding on Indegogo.com, and are in the manufacturing stage with a working prototype.

“Mr. Robin Hossain, CEO of i-Zone-3, explained, “These gaming rifles are a gamers dream come true, there is nothing comparable on the market, especially when combined with our 5D system.””

I am one who loves to game on my PC, and having such an awesome piece of technology coming to the FPS gamers of the PC market is going to be awesome. Once again, like all of my technology posts this comes down to price… Not once did they talk anything about price, and for a budget gamer like myself that is discerning. There is also the fact that if your in a house full of sleeping people, would you really be jumping around and shooting things? This may not be a practical addition to your PC gaming controllers, but it will be cool.

************Update!******************

I found prices on their main site…. you wont get out for cheaper than $4,000…. with the ultimate package being around $10,900 (this includes the $400 dollar cost of the blaster) http://www.i-zone-3.com/purchase.html

Needless to say this is not for the practical gamer!

The upside is that you can but a real gun that seems to be based off the M16 semi-auto that looks like the blaster rifle for $1,000… i would rather have this and then spend $3k on a gaming rig…

  1. Their rifle looks an awful lot like a modified nerf sniper rifle – http://www.vassconsult.com/images/nerfsniper.jpg

  2. I’m going on the fact that I think this whole thing might be a crock of crap. Indigogo lets you take the money donated to you regardless of whether or not you reach the cap. These people I think may be exploiting it.
