The Walking Dead goes social!

I am sure by now most gamers are into zombies in some fashion. Be it the movies by Romero or Shaun of the Dead or games like Left for Dead 1&2, the rakghoul flashpoints in SWTOR, or hard core zombie addictions like the DayZ Mod for ARMA 2. Those things are all nice and great for the people who have time to play them (especially DayZ), but what about the people who want to live in one of their favorite zombie shows while relying on their Facebook friends? Well, Eyes Wide Games has developed a social game based off “The Walking Dead.”

“Interact with characters from the show, complete missions, and recruit Facebook friends to defend your camp against Walkers.”

This can be the ideal way to choose who in your friends list would be ideal additions to your zombie plan! Once you start up the game you will be able to choose simple customizations with around 10 different heads/skins, shirts, pants, and footwear along with the ability to choose gender. The game states that the only way to take down a walker is by a headshot. You might be wondering how they put accuracy into a turned based social game. The accuracy check is quite simple actually, once you choose a target a pendulum swings back and forth over their head, and you can have to click it at the right time to get a head shot. Now this is a typical social game that relies on energy and a pay to win cash store, but it might be the one that catches my attention for longer than a couple of days. It is currently in some sort of open beta phase, and has 20,000 monthly users on Facebook.

So far it seems to be pretty fun, and a lot more interactive than most combat based social games. This might just be the turn based game you were looking for to get your zombie and classic RPG fix! If you have played it we would like you to leave a comment below, and let us know what you think!
