When a new PC game comes out I go to a torren site and download it to see if the game deserve US$ 60 bucks… thankfully I did it before buying Mass Effect 3.
I did the same with BF3… in the end I bought the game, because the multiplayer was worth it.
It is like a demo, and many people do not buy PC games because it is easier (and cheaper) to download it and play until you done, then move on…

lol, loved the episode. A little disappointed you didn’t talk about the only game that really caught my attention at e3, shootmania.
Also, gotta disagree with pc gaming being dead or dieing to the game industry. While the console market is larger, it is shrinking. Diablo III and Starcraft II has also shown that non MMO PC exclusive games can sell stupid high numbers. All the growth seems to be in mobile gaming and PC gaming. Both Epic and Crytek, two companies that were originally PC and went to consoles cursing the pc, are now working on pc exclusive titles. It seems like the hot genre many companies are making a game in is the mmo shooter and everyone knows pc is going to be the best platform for that genre. Finally it seems like more and more developers are looking into free to play titles to attract more gamers and the pc is much more suited to it then the console.
The case last E3, when Dice promised not to charge money, was the Battlelog/Elite story. And now I cant imagine BF3 without Battlelog anymore.
Been following TOROcast for a long time and have been enjoying that podcast, nice to see you guys branching out and cover more things. I know you’ve mentioned doing a podcast for Guild Wars 2 and looking forward to see what you bring to the table for that.
Existing fan of Torocast and am now a fan of Ban Hammer. Can’t wait to hear your upcoming Planetside2 podcast….Loyalty until Death! Strength in Unity! Victory to the Terran Republic!
P.S. I agree with Tom. PC gaming is only improving and is far from death.
Great job, tbh..I left TOR a while ago, was in New Hope and grouped with a few of you guys time to time.
I enjoyed your ramblings on TOROcast about non TOR more than the TOR stuff..and I still listen to TOROcast weekly!
